Top 12 Boutique Hotels to visit in 2019

Located in the heart of downtown Florence, Alabama, the GunRunner features 10 spacious luxury suites that are uniquely designed to celebrate the world-class music, fashion, art, and history of the Shoals area.

We offer a 3,200 square foot Common Area that offers eclectic décor with comfortable seating areas, and a large wooden bar inlaid with honeycomb onyx. Ornate chandeliers mingle with the historical building’s brick walls, exposed beams, and original wood floors. This common area is an exceptional venue for corporate gatherings, wedding receptions, office Christmas parties or any event that you may have in mind.

Seven of the hotel’s suites feature private balconies. All suites have large walk-in tiled showers, 55-inch televisions, wet bars, refrigerators and luxury bedding. Hotel guests enjoy free private parking, private entrances, and keyless entry.

The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and historical attractions. If shopping is on your to-do list, Billy Reid’s flagship store and other locally-owned boutiques are two blocks away. Also, the University of North Alabama’s campus is within walking distance of the GunRunner.

Treat yourself to a stay at the GunRunner Boutique Hotel. Suites are available to rent separately or you can choose the “Run of the House” option which includes private access to all 10 suites and the common area.

GunRunner Bar – Now open in the center of the common area is a one of a kind fully stocked bar.  The GunRunner bar is open 7 days a week with limited hours.

Testimonials

Loved the room! The view from the balcony was AMAZING!

Very clean. Cool vibe and something different 🙂

- Kaylie from Vestavia, AL

Far surpassed our expectations! It was almost like being in a little museum. The bar/common area is absolutely gorgeous as was our room with all of the old wood ceiling and floors.

- Av from Galliano, LA

From the room to the decore and the lobby/bar this is a gem of a hotel. It’s an experience that I haven’t found at any other Alabama hotel. I would recommend people go to Florence especially to check out the hotel.

- Chris from Birmingham, AL

The finest hotel that I’ve ever stayed in. The unique atmosphere, the decor, friendly but unobtrusive staff, the cozy bar, the comfort of the entire room and all the extra little niceties!

- Cynthia from Huntsville, AL

What a great place! It’s a totally unique experience, and I’d recommend it to any couple who wants a quick getaway. We stayed one night, but I’d have preferred two.
